Classic Road Transport Models

OK........so this is the bit where I'm supposed to tell you all about me and what I do........Not a lot to tell really.....just an old Highland gudgie who loves building model trucks.....Seriously though, I was so lucky to have grown up during what I consider to be the golden age of British toys.....Begining with Matchbox & Dinky toys and progessing through original Lego, Meccano, Tri-Ang Arkitex and Hornby Dublo model trains.....toys which inspired imagination and creativity. Airfix & Revel kits followed leading to serious model railways, a passion which I hold to this day. I spent some years restoring old Dinky and other antique toys and when the Corgi Classic model trucks appeared in 90's it occured to me.....Why not re-model these into trucks which the mainstream trade will never do.....and thus it began. Today I strive to produce bespoke and unique models of vehicles operated by the well remembered and much respected firms from the Highlands of Scotland. Using parts from propriety models and parts of my own manufacture  I endeavour to produce unique models for the serious collector. Nearly all of my models are based on the actual vehicle and are as accurate as available historical details and supply of parts allow. Occasionaly certain details such as registration and fleet numbers are lost in the mists of time but I always try to capture the classic atmosphere of the subject. Now I'm a "one man band" operation and stock models can take between 10 to 30 hours to complete so I am unable to accomodate commission work at present (there are only so many hours in the day) but I try my best to bring you something a little different for your collection and promote our wonderful hobby........Happy collecting to you all.....Dave Marshall.
